💡 What is Deferred Execution?
In traditional blockchains, nodes must execute all transactions in a block before voting on consensus. Monad separates these processes. Nodes agree on the official ordering of transactions (Consensus) first, and execute them slightly later (Execution). Because the transaction order is already finalized, nodes can execute the block independently at maximum speed without holding up network consensus. The tiny gap between consensus and execution is the "execution lag" (typically < 100ms).
